Chartreuse for a Cause:
In past years we have raised money and generated donations for numerous non-profit organizations that benefit both women and the environment.
Our most successful event was the Swap N' Shop. Dozens of women donated gently used professional wear for Dress for Success in exchange for a discount at Boutique Chartreuse. Last January, we gathered 5 four-foot long clothing racks full of professional attire plus bags of bags and shoes and other accessories!
This year, we are reinventing the Swap N' Shop. With the economy like it is, everyone needs a little help. So we are taking a taking a new approach: Have a Clothing Swap in January to benefit local non-profits. Now is the time to clean out that closet and get ready to go "greenglam"!
What is a Clothing Swap?
Quite simply you bring in your gently used clothing and accessories as do (hopefully) tens of dozens of others and everybody SHOPS. You get "new to you" wardrobe additions for only the cost of event entry. Add in food, drinks, music, a great cause, and you have the ULTIMATE GIRLS NIGHT OUT. What happens to the leftovers? They are donated to homeless shelters, domestic abuse programs, employment re-entry programs (like Dress for Success) and more.
What is GREENGLAM?
Greenglam is for girls with style savvy and fiscal finesse. If you have been known to "thrift", raid your grandmother's closet, bargain shop, borrow from your sister, or remake old favorites, you are GREENGLAM. If you like mixing a classic vintage piece with a sale rack "find", you are GREENGLAM. If you like deconstructed sweaters and uber-tailored pants together, you are GREENGLAM. If you can mix combat boots and sequins and look fabulous, you are GREENGLAM.
